Head, Brain & Spinal Cord Injuries

Brain Injury

Minor and moderate head injuries often cause significant short, medium and even long term difficulties for many, and you are entitled to be fully compensated for those difficulties - which can include problems with returning to work.

More severe brain injuries can lead to life-long problems, impacting on the individual and their families. Accidents by their nature are unexpected and the resulting trauma can be overwhelming, with severe day-to-day consequences.  Cian O'Carroll Solicitors offer an approach which goes beyond the everyday understanding between a solicitor and client. We are approachable, accessible, supportive and caring, being part of a team that includes clients’ families and those closely involved in care work - all aiming to provide the maximum benefit and support for them to live and enjoy the best life possible.

Brain Injury can result in a range of problems such as:

  • Behaviour and personality - including anxiety, depression, loss of motivation, anger;
  • Cognitive - including problems with memory, attention and concentration, low tolerance of noise and stress;
  • Physical - including loss of co-ordination, epilepsy, speech problems, loss of smell and taste, fatigue, sexual problems.

We try to be as accommodating as possible where people have suffered serious injury. We can arrange initial consultations at home, in hospital or wherever is most convenient.

Where appropriate, we may be able to offer a legal costs insurance to give you the peace of mind that your key assets are protected, whatever the outcome of your case.

We will assist in advising on long term financial protection and have a lot of experience of liasing between families and the Wards of Court Office which is the section of the Courts Service that manages the monies lodged in court for persons who are unable to manage their own financial affairs.

Where necessary, we can also arrange for financial advice so that your compensation is handled and invested in the most prudent way. To insure independence of financial advice, we do not accept any payment of commission or take any other benefit from the investment of your monies of those of your loved one.

Above all, we offer an efficient and expert legal service to ensure that the best outcome possible is achieved for you or your loved one, we will listen to you and your needs and keep you informed of progress throughout the proceedings.
